Description : Trekking and canoeing north of Oussouye in landscapes of palm groves, mangrove and savannah to reach the banks of the Casamance River.
DAY 1: OULOUF – SIGANAR – 20 KM
In the morning , Visit of 6 villages linked by their traditions and geographical location, providing an insight into animist traditions. Visit of sacred sites, traditional houses, local artisans and cashew nut processing units. Lunch in Oussouye.
In the afternoon: Crossing the large rice field to reach the village of Siganar and its many neighbourhoods. We then continue towards the village of Niambalang, where we visit an impluvium house. Return to Oussouye through the bush and rice fields. Dinner and overnight stay in Oussouye.
DAY 2: OUSSOUYE – MLOMP – POINTE ST GEORGES – 16 KM – 45 MIN BY PIROGUE
In the morning Following bush tracks lined with cashew trees, we reach the village of Mlomp. Visit of the village, including its traditional two-storey houses and colonnades. Lunch in Mlomp.
In the afternoon: we continue along a village path for approximately 20 minutes through the rice fields, then board a pirogue which takes us to Pointe St Georges. Short visit of the village and walk along the riverbank, with the possibility of observing manatees depending on the day. Dinner and overnight stay at a campement in Pointe St Georges.
Note: Depending on the tides, boarding may take place in Mlomp.
DAY 3: POINTE ST GEORGES – MLOMP – OUSSOUYE – 16 KM
Early morning: Short transfer to the Kanoufa platform. Located 25 metres above the ground, this platform offers a superb view over the canopy and the river. The ascent is similar to a tree-climbing course, using a self-belayed ladder.
Then, following savannah tracks and crossing traditional bridges, we reach Mlomp, where a vehicle takes us back to Oussouye. Lunch in Oussouye.
In the afternoon ; We set off for a short hike through the heart of the Oukout classified forest.
Note: The ascent to the Kanoufa platform must be booked in advance.
