Oussouye – Eloubaline – Mlomp – Pte St Georges

Description : A combination of hiking and a pirogue trip to discover Eloubaline Island and Pointe Saint-Georges.

Day 1: Oussouye – Eloubaline – Oussouye – approx. 8 km – 1 h 30 pirogue

In the morning, an approximately 8 km hike through the villages of the Oulouf Kingdom. Discover traditional fetishes and visit a cashew nut processing unit. Lunch in Edioungou.

In the afternoon, a 40-minute motorized pirogue trip through the mangroves to Eloubaline. Visit the island and its famous impluvium houses, then return to Edioungou.

If possible, meet the King of Oussouye. Overnight in Oussouye or Edioungou.

Day 2: Oussouye – Pointe Saint-Georges – Mlomp – Oussouye – approx. 9 km trek – 40 mn pirogue – 18 km taxi 

Transfer by taxi to Mlomp. Approximately 3-hour hike along paths crossing rice fields and savannah, including traditional bridges, before reaching Kanoufa and climbing up to its viewing platform. Short vehiucle transfer (3 km ) to  Pointe Saint-Georges, on the banks of the Casamance River, with the possibility of spotting manatees depending on the day and conditions.

Lunch, followed by a pirogue trip to Djiramaete, where a taxi takes us back to Mlomp. Visit the museum and the famous multi-storey houses before returning to Oussouye.

Note : By reservation, it is possible to climb up to the Kanoufa platform, located at the top of a kapok tree. Enjoy a 360° panoramic view over the river and the bush.
