Description: Trekking to discover the multiple facets of the region, landscapes of palm groves, mangrove and savannah, Casamance River, colonial ramins of Karabane ,  Egueye Island and traditions of Oussouye

DAY 1 : OUSSOUYE – MLOMP – POINTE SAINT-GEORGES – 16 KM

Morning : Following bush tracks lined with cashew trees, we reach the village of Mlomp. Visit of the village, including its traditional two-storey houses and colonnades, as well as the museum. Lunch in the village.

Afternoon : We continue through the rice fields (30 min) before boarding a pirogue to Pointe Saint-Georges (45 min). Visit of the village and, depending on the day, possible observation of manatees and dolphins.

Dinner and overnight stay at a local campement.

DAY 2: POINTE SAINT-GEORGES – MLOMP – KARABANE – 12 KM

Early morning : Transfer to the Kanoufa platform. Located 25 metres above the ground, high up in a giant kapok tree, the platform offers a spectacular view over the forest canopy and the river.

We then continue along trails through the savannah and rice fields, crossing traditional bridges to reach Mlomp. A vehicle then transfers us to Elinkine (15 min). Lunch.

Afternoon : Pirogue crossing to Karabane (25 min). Visit of the island and its colonial remains, including the Breton church and cemetery. At the end of the day, enjoy some time swimming on the beach.

Dinner and overnight stay in Karabane.

Note : Advance reservation is mandatory to access the Kanoufa platform.

DAY 3 : KARABANE – DJIFANGUENE – EGUEYE – 9 KM / 2 H 30 KAYAKING

Morning : We cross the island through its northern area (approximately 8 km), then take a pirogue to Egueye (30 min). Lunch.

Afternoon : Kayaking excursion along the bolongs to discover the landscapes and ecosystem of the mangrove.

Dinner and overnight stay in Egueye.

DAY 4 : EGUEYE – OUSSOUYE – 20 KM

Morning :  Return to Oussouye, passing through the village of Diantène and the palm groves of Oukout. Lunch in Oussouye.

Afternoon :  Visit of the six villages united by their traditions and geographical location, forming the Kingdom of Oulouf. Visit of sacred fetish sites and a cashew nut processing unit.

Highlights : The multi-storey huts made of banco, Karabane and its vestiges, the Casamance River, kayaking in the mangrove, the traditional bridges
